More WW2-Era Swedish Boots

Here is another pair of WW2-era Swedish boots. They are stamped with the year of manufacture, 1942, and the size, 42, although this is incorrect, as the boots are actually a size 46. As with the boots previously listed, these have originally been leather soled, but retrofitted with Tretorn rubber soles in the 1960s or '70s to bring them in line with the newer M/59 boots used at the time. The date on the soles is 1967.

  1. hello,

a great blog you have here. got myself a pair of M/59 swedish boots which are brilliant quality, and have seen a another pair very similar to these in this entry. Would you advise that a 41 in this style would fit someone who normally takes a 45? Many thanks, Martin.

    1. Many thanks! I think that this pair was simply mislabelled, as my other Swedish boots are size 46 (my normal size), and they fit me fine. The boots do run large, though, and seem to fit best with two pairs of woollen socks (which I think is what the Swedish Army does) or a pair of socks and foot wraps (which the Swedes used to). I have worn a pair one size smaller, which is okay, but I would personally stick to my normal size. Hope this helps. Regards, Ben

    2. Thanks Ben, I appreciate the quick reply. Yeah, my m/59 pair are a 44 and are still probably a EU size too big, but I had read they were generous, and with extra socks work just fine. Think I am being a little optimistic to expect this pair of 41s to fit though, but just wanted to check on their sizing and your thoughts; trying to find this style of boot now is proving difficult! Cheers, Martin

  2. Hi Martin. There is a guy on eBay UK, who is selling new old stock M/59 boots for £25 a pair, and he's got them in sizes 41-45. Might be worth giving him a try: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Swedish-Army-Work-Combat-Boots-RETRO-VINTAGE-Brand-New-Christmas-Gift-/261365255123?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&var=&hash=item3cda954bd3
I was gutted he didn't have them in 46, as I wanted to get a backup pair.
    Cheers, Ben

    1. Hey Ben,
This is the guy I got my first pair from. I've gotten in touch with him and am getting a 43 from him as well. I'll keep my eye out for the older Swedish boot too. Cheers.
